Embroidery is an art form that has been around for centuries but only found fame again in recent years. While some see embroidery as way to take their mind off things or really, a digital detox, there are many others who discovered their talent and love for it, pursuing the craft professionally.
The needle and thread that runs through each fabric breathes new life into it, adding a pop of colour and meaning to the otherwise plain and ordinary cloth. Many brands have picked up this fashion trend lately and have collaborated with various artists to create unique pieces. Come through as we bring to you some of the latest releases in the fashion industry!
Kipling recently collaborated with Chinese embroidery artist Angel Chen for an exclusive East meets West Fall Winter collection. The brand’s iconic bag silhouettes were reimagined with a bold and fresh approach, with auspicious Chinese symbols such as the dragon, crane and pine tree embroidered onto the bags.
Available in a chic pink and dark denim, Kipling fans can look forward to seeing the embroidery on eight different bags.
The collection is now available at Kipling boutiques at ION, Jem and Vivo City.
Charles & Keith
Not long after their successful collaboration with Chinese illustrator Oamul Lu, Charles & Keith is now tapping on local embroidery artist Teresa Lim to dream up an exclusive range of embroidered products.
The exclusive Winter range inspired by the mystical energy of nature sees Lim’s quirky and whimsical illustrations embroidered on the Charles and Keith’s round pouch, crossbody bag, round tote bag and sculptural handle bucket bag.

Local retailer Elisa Litz is best known for their Disney-themed heels and sneakers. One of their latest collections we can’t stop thinking about is none other than the Winnie Floral Sneakers, featuring the adorable honey-loving bear Winnie-the-Pooh.
The Winnie Floral Sneakers is made up of lambskin leather with lamb suede leather interiors and embroidered with intricate florals and of course, Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet, and adorned with a dreamy satin shoelace that gives the pair a feminine touch.
Available in cream and pink, head over to Elisa Litz’s store or website to shop them now.
