Casio revealed today the G-SHOCK MRG-G2000BL-9A, a model inspired by the legendary action film star Bruce Lee, who would have been 80 years old this year.
Limited to 300 pieces worldwide
Limited to only 300 pieces worldwide, the MRG-G2000BL-9A features Lee’s trademark Jeet Kune Do colours in yellow and red as well as the original logo on the bezel and back.
The watch is also said to be modelled after the strength and refinement of Lee, whom have much in common with the toughness and resilience of the G-SHOCK MR-G series.
Apart from the exquisite craftsmanship of the timepiece, Casio have also designed a special themed case for the watch, featuring the same Jeet Kune Do logo and colours with dragon motifs.
G-SHOCK: The “unbreakable watch”
Since it was released in 1983, Casio’s G-SHOCK series has been known and loved for its toughness with many calling it the “unbreakable watch”. The series was developed with a “Triple 10” concept: 10-year battery life, 10-bar water resistance and 10-metre drop shock resistance.
Though years has passed, the series is constantly evolving and pushing beyond limits and its latest Bruce Lee model is an example.
Since the limited edition collaboration was announced on social media, fans of G-SHOCK and Bruce Lee alike voiced their approval of the model.
It is unclear how many MRG-G2000BL-9A watches are available in Singapore but its availability has been listed in 11 local stores. Located a Casio or G-SHOCK store near you.
